Galaxy E3 Elementary School
The Galaxy E3 Elementary project involved the modernization and new construction of an approximately 109,000 SF, 751 student station phased replacement elementary school and included the replacement of an adjacent 4-acre city park facility. Galaxy Elementary was a new direction for K-5 instruction in Palm Beach County, the nation’s 11th largest school district. This is the first CHOICE (magnet) elementary school specifically designed to provide E3 learning to the District’s underprivileged and minority populations. The school’s 21st century curriculum focuses on Energy, Environment and Engineering and includes a focus on science and math. To complement the curriculum, the school is also the first LEED Platinum school in the country to integrate the curriculum into building and site design. Our programming effort created a new generation of DaVinci Studios (elementary science labs), Learning Studios (classrooms), and Wonderment Spaces (skills labs) to evolve the new curriculum.
