Fontainebleau Aviation Fixed Base Operations Hangar
Programming, architectural, and interior design services were provided for a new Fontainebleau Aviation Fixed Base Operation Hangar in South Florida, which serves private jet operations as well as charter flights. With a strong focus on VIP service and operational efficiency, this new facility includes a beautiful greeting area, an elegant passenger lounge with a conference room, a branded retail shop and café bar to serve guests, private pilots suites, offices and lounges, a conference room, a fitness room, and high-end customer service, line service, and catering zones.
The interior design was envisioned to provide not only the end-user but also the staff and the pilots, with a luxurious experience that reinforces their brand. The planning of space supported this vision by the selection of materials, finishes, and location of merchandise. The elegant Greeting Area and Passenger Lounge with high ceilings and glass facades provide an ambiance of relaxation and tranquility, just what is needed to get ready before a flight. The open space offers flexibility for the future and great views towards the landscape and jet runways.
The modern, two-story terminal is ten times the size of the former “south side” terminal it superseded. The new terminal features a 1,500 SF lobby, 12,000 SF arrivals/departures canopy, a 12-seat glass-enclosed conference room downstairs, an eight-seat meeting room with ramp views upstairs, and a 40-person training room, all A/V-equipped. The pilots’ lounge offers its own A/V-equipped meeting space, along with four private snooze rooms, a flight planning room, and a swipe-and-go “micro-market.”
