Brightline Boca Raton Station
The Boca Raton Station is an extension of the existing Brightline passenger rail service that currently serves the downtowns of Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach with the extension to Orlando currently under construction. The Boca Station is situated in downtown Boca Raton on site with the downtown public library near Mizner Park, an adjacent parking garage containing 455 parking spaces, surface parking and a large green public plaza. The station is a one-story linear building design that draw elements from the modern style of the existing stations to reflect the consistent brand identity throughout the network.
The station is about 9,000 sf located at the east side of a site that is approximately 7 acres adjacent to the FEC right-of-way. The vehicular approach to the 300’ long by 30’ wide station building is from the south where there are paved bus /rideshare drop off spaces adjacent to a landscaped sidewalk and station building that lead passengers north to the station main entry. There is a lush landscaped tiered plaza just past the garage vehicle entrance that provides a focal point between the garage pedestrian circulation and the station entry. The station entry has a covered baggage drop just north of the station entry doors for convenience before entering the ticketing and security area. Once passengers progress thru security, they are greeted with plush seating lounges equipped with food and beverage offerings, entertainment, public restrooms, and other amenities. The south end of the building consists of back of house operations and offices.
The 860’ long covered platforms run north/south connected directly to the east side of the station lounges, which offer convenient quick access to boarding trains. The east side of the building is flanked with a generous amount of glazing for natural daylighting into the lounges and visual connection to approaching/departing trains.
