Bernard Zyscovich is the founder and CEO of Zyscovich Architects. He is an award-winning architect and published author, who is internationally recognized as a design and thought leader in holistic master planning and Real Urbanism®.

 

Zyscovich leads a transnational team of architects impacting lives around the world with innovative architecture and interior design for consumer consumption. 

 

Almost 40 years ago, he founded this Miami, Florida based firm out of a passion to produce impact through ideas, aesthetic expression and technological innovation. 

 

Zyscovich has become an industry-wide subject matter expert on urban design, historic preservation and master planning, who incorporates character, flavor, and vision with an end result, destination. 

 

What makes Zyscovich’s projects turn into iconic masterpieces is his keen eye for design that reinforces socio-economic, cultural and recreational possibilities. His writing on architecture and urban design has been published widely in numerous magazines. His latest book, Getting Real About Urbanism, was commissioned in 2008 by the Urban Land Institute.

 

Zyscovich has lent his expertise on his theory of Real Urbanism® to a varied group of professionals in the private and public sector, such as: the Urban Land Institute, the Florida Redevelopment Association, the Florida Institute for Government at Florida Atlantic University, the National Association of Homebuilders, the New York Metro Transit Authority TOD Coordination Council, and the National Housing and Rehabilitation Association, to name a few.

 

He has also lectured on Real Urbanism® at Florida Atlantic University’s School of Urban and Regional Planning.  A Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, Zyscovich is also a recipient of AIA Miami’s highest honor, the Silver Medal Award, for Lifetime Achievement in Design.

 

After studying urban design at the Universita’ di Architettura in Venice, Italy, Zyscovich received his architecture degree at New York’s Pratt Institute. Zyscovich is also the recipient of the Pratt Institute Alumni Achievement Award for Professional Accomplishment and Leadership in Architecture.

 

Founded in 1977, Zyscovich Architects maintains its corporate headquarters in Miami, Florida and has regional offices in West Palm Beach, Orlando, Florida, New York City, New York and Bogota, Colombia.
