Testimonios

  • The Zyscovich team was brought on board at roughly 50% job completion into a project that was in disarray. Zyscovich quickly identified key solutions related not only to the architecture & engineering, but also to human relations. Moreover, their presence on site injected order into what had been a chaotic process. Like most VA outpatient projects, this one was originally on an 18 month completion schedule. However, due to many complications the project had been under construction for just over 5 years. With approximately 50% remaining to be completed Zyscovich and the construction team was able to accelerate the schedule and complete the remaining portion in just over seven months. I could continue on with more favorable accounts, but will instead simply say that I would highly recommend Zyscovich, Inc. as they have performed in an exemplary manner on this job.

    Joseph Fourcade
    Information Technology Specialist, Veterans Administration

Broward County Veterans Administration Outpatient Center

  • Their staff was always professional and responsive. The team’s work reflected the firm’s ability to establish a vision, strategy and implementation plan that maximizes market, economic and community opportunities. Likewise, the firm’s ability to conceive as well as communicate innovative urban solutions is one of their most important strengths, which offers their clients a distinct advantage.

    Daria A. Nottingham
Former Executive Director, Miami Downtown Development Authority

    Downtown Miami Master Plan Study

  • The Zyscovich Design team was able to successfully address the zoning issues, and working closely with the City of Doral Planning and Zoning Staff, managed to get the necessary approvals to proceed with the project in a timely manner. I recommend Zyscovich as a reliable and creative group who would be a valuable asset to any project they are associated with.

    Masoud Shojaee
    Owner/Developer, Shoma Development Corporation

  • What always impressed me about Bernard is his belief that you cannot plan a city by sitting in an office. He walked every one of the neighborhoods encompassed in the master plan-with the people, with the community-listening to everyone before making any decisions. This is why I believe we got such a good product, because Bernard’s philosophy in that, before you can plan a city, you have to feel the city. We could not be more pleased with the result of the FEC masterplan. When Zyscovich was made Curator of the project’s keystone Midtown Miami. I felt it was in recognition of Bernard as an artist. He’s so inspired and gifted at seeing the elements for urban redevelopment. I can only say that the FEC master plan is a great example of American civics.

    Christine Morales
Assistant Director for the City of Miami Neighborhood Enhancement Team

    FEC/Midtown Miami Master Plan

  • The complicated project is located on a tight downtown site in a congested area adjacent to an elevated Metromover Station with heavy pedestrian and vehicular traffic patterns. I’m pleased to report that because Zyscovich was so adept at implementing efficient construction administration protocols and coordinating with our campus facilities division and City of Miami building officials, disruption was kept to a minimum. • This has been a complex project from the onset and has required extensive coordination with various governmental agencies, non-profit groups, business partners, the community and numerous other stakeholders. Zyscovich Architects has not only provided exceptional architectural services in their role as the architect of record and contract administrator for the School District, but as a partner and stakeholder in seeing this project and the school community succeed. Zyscovich even retained a grant fundraiser to secure additional funding for the “extras” that make this school so special and donated time to everything from sitting on various committees to designing a logo for the school. It is truly a unique, flagship facility for the District that encourages a sense of wonder and lifelong learning. • This project served as a catalyst for the entire convention center area and established a bookend for the now world famous Lincoln Road. The success of the project concept and design regenerated the western portion of Lincoln Road and resulted in a substantial increase in the value of the retail along the corridor. Lincoln Road is currently one of the most successful retail corridors in the country and is used as a model for other cities. The ability of Bernard Zyscovich and his team to understand the urban context of a building, and how to design building that become a part of the community and enhance the lives of the residents, while also achieving an economic development objective, is quite rare. I would highly recommend them to anyone who hopes to accomplish outstanding results with a distinct visual presence and catalytic development efforts.

  • The West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority had the opportunity to work with Zyscovich during the process of developing the plan and is tremendously pleased with the product. The plan focuses on identifying the unique qualities and character of the various Downtown districts as a means of creating development and growth opportunities that will allow West Palm Beach to realize its full potential as a vital urban center. Perhaps most impressive was the ability of Mr. Zyscovich and his associates to work with community leaders, elected officials, and development interests to come up with a plan that addressed the needs of the Downtown from many different perspectives.

  • Throughout our collaboration, Zyscovich has demonstrated a deep understanding of how to create a development that achieves a synergistic relationship with its surroundings and leverages the existing assets to create something that becomes greater than the ‘sum of its parts’. This ability to not only have large scale vision but also the ability to devise implementation plans is extremely valuable and has been a great asset to our team. • It is with great satisfaction and respect that I highly cite Zyscovich Architects for their performance on the Veteran’s Administration Sunrise Medical Outpatient Center. They fostered communication with engineering consultants and sub-contractors alleviating professional tensions by becoming solution focused. The Zyscovich team re-connected the broken communication chain; not only did they solve the many technical challenges that faced our project, but they also integrated seamlessly with various professional factions on the project from sub-contractors to City Inspectors. I highly recommend the Zyscovich team to anyone with a focused goal set. I believe they are the team to help you realize those goals.

  • Faced with a very stringent time frame, Zyscovich was able to produce the required documents on schedule on November 30th, the same year, at which time the documents were put through for the technical approval process. The firm’s diligence and professionalism in turn made it possible for us to meet our contractual obligations with the Colombian Government. We are totally satisfied with the work the firm has provided and we highly recommend them, without reservation, for future projects which, like this one, may require an excellent quality of iconic architecture and strict adherence to challenging programming demands.

  • Both projects required the firm to interact and coordinate with numerous public bodies, including FDOT, the City of Hollywood, Broward County, the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization and Broward County Planning Council. There was extensive public participation, including five public forums. The productive nature of these interactions contributed significantly to the overall success of the final plan. • I had the pleasure of working with the Zyscovich urban design and planning team for three and a half years between 2006 and 2009. Zyscovich balanced the concerns and desires of residents, the business community, our Advisory Board, staff, the City Commission, Mayor, and land owners to create a unified vision for Downtown. They exhibited patience and sensitivity when interacting with each of these stakeholders. The team was extremely creative and enthusiastic in all aspects of the project and quite dedicated to the project’s successful outcome. • Zyscovich, Inc. provided not only a phased replacement plan that precluded the expense and inconvenience of removing students from campus during construction, and a thoughtful and efficient architectural design, but also a highly sensitive site plan the protected and preserved the historic vegetation from the original 1920’s site. Zyscovich was able to design a system of color applications to the interiors that both distinguishes and integrated age groups. It was a pleasure to have had the opportunity to work with the Zyscovich architectural firm. They designed a “green” facility that inspires a vision for the future and progress in the present. From the Davinci Hall through the overall fluid design of the building, Zyscovich struck a blend of art with functional beauty. Zyscovich was conscientious in their attention to quality and detail. • The Zyscovich team’s performance was commendable on a project that synergized the programs and objectives of the two separate institutions. The design of the buildings, while modern and cost effective, are clearly inspired by the natural qualities of the site itself. The Zyscovich team is to be commended in terms of design, but also due to the project’s challenges: the significant environmental agency permitting hurdles to save hundreds of existing trees; the maintenance of strict project budget controls, with value engineering alternatives provide; and, the tight timeframe for execution of a complex project.

The Zyscovich team maintained a proactive, cooperative attitude with all of the development team members. Although their primary client for the project design was the School District, Zyscovich responded quickly to FAU’s requests, acting in FAU’s best interest.

  • The Zyscovich master plan involved the integration of over 140,000 SF of new construction with existing building. This had to be accomplished while maintaining the existing campus operations for which the firm created an excellent phased replacement plan. Among our favorite design features are hallways which open out to provide “learning niches” with chalk boards on walls where students can write questions and ideas. Zyscovich’s innovation makes the hallway, in effect, a chat room. In keeping with the school’s technological 21st century mission, Zyscovich provided for a fully equipped business lounge, and state of the art TV production and graphic art studios. They also technologically equipped the school for distance learning so that students can communicate through broadcasts with foreign countries.

  • MDCPS took this opportunity to create a new generation of 21st Century school facilities with program improvements and enhanced project technology. Zyscovich Architects was selected to participate in the project and to design a new 21st Century K-8 prototype facility for the more than 1,600 students. The effort was launched with an extensive research and development process to study new educational trends worldwide. Zyscovich was an integral part of the collaborative process and added tremendous value to the new school designs. They demonstrated a keen understanding of the evolution of education theory and the resultant impact on curriculum and facility design.

Zyscovich’s school designs are extremely agile and exhibit exceptional innovation that support and enhance the 21st Century educational initiatives of our district. In fact, we are currently using designs produced by Zyscovich as examples of 21st Century Educational Facilities as we introduce a bond issue to the public in order to generate additional funding to continue the construction for much needed renovations for Miami-Dade county schools.

  • I recommend Zyscovich Architects to design and partner with owners to create inspiring facilities that promote learning. They are superb at evaluating all possible elements of a project’s constraints and offering multiple solutions and options to find the best possible solution for both the Owner and End-User. Their innovative programming and cost control techniques have allowed our facility to be built for 60% of the cost and in half the time of a comparable public school, while providing greater opportunities for learning and state-of-the-art technology. I am pleased to recommend Zyscovich Architects because of their excellent design capabilities and performance in delivering our project on-time and under (an extremely tight) budget.

I highly recommend Zyscovich Architects.

The projects will significantly impact future development throughout the City of Hollywood for years to come, and the Zyscovich Team lived up to their well-earned reputation as visionary and creative professional planners.

  • As the Design Build Developer for this project, we have worked very closely with Zyscovich Architects to compete and win this international design competition. Throughout our collaboration, Zyscovich has demonstrated a deep understanding of how to create a development that achieves a synergistic relationship with its surroundings. Zyscovich played an instrumental part in the development of the programming of this project to create the appropriate mix of uses to generate a vibrant center for commercial, sports and entertainment that will provide the catalyst for the revitalization of the adjacent commercial developments, as well as create internal components that produce sufficient revenue to fuel the entire project.

In the end, the developed a master plan and implementation strategy which was unanimously adopted by the City Commission with widespread support for the community, including the landowners and developers.

  • The Zyscovich team was expeditious in addressing comments generated by the City Commission and City staff during the completion of the project, and was involved in public presentations. We found the design standards to be both thorough and creative, as is the document itself and all presentations related to its development.

  • In every respect of our relationship during the process, the City and the CRA found the firm to be knowledgeable, innovative, and highly professional. Zyscovich’s strong suit in this process was the ability to design a project that meshed with the surrounding neighborhoods in a practical manner while still incorporating a vision for the future.

  • Zyscovich Architects has provided the Broward County Public Schools with architectural services in various capacities for the many years including Architect of Record for several new and replacement schools as well as large additions to existing schools. Services have also included conceptual studies, value engineering, design presentations, mater planning, cost summaries and LEED expertise. Their staff is efficient, cooperative, professional and sensitive to time and budget.

Each classroom uses a specific color on accent walls to distinguish age groups and all the colors are brought together in the dining room via pattering of the vinyl floor.

Zyscovich Architects has provided exceptional architectural and engineering services in their role as the architect of record and contract administrator for the School district. They have proven to be a valuable team member working closely with the owner, other permitting agencies, and the construction manager. They have carried out their services, both during design and during contract administration with professionalism and in a timely manner, placing emphasis to details and the district’s needs. • It has been a pleasure to work with Zyscovich, Inc. through the process of designing and building a new school. Working within the Palm Beach School District’s specifications, they helped us realize our vision of the Montessori program. • For the past few years I have been fortunate to work closely with the staff from Zyscovich, Inc. on several multimillion dollar projects they designed and administered for us. Their performance has always been exemplary, especially in the area of service to the owner and response time. As a principal, it was an honor to work with architects who listen to my input and believed in my vision of creating a seamless K-12 facility. The final result of their hard work and innovation is a beautiful campus that our students and whole community have enjoyed and will continue to enjoy for many generations.

  • I want to take this opportunity to express my appreciation to all the members of the Zyscovich Architect Team who have worked above and beyond to build the newest high school in Broward County. • I must add that Zyscovich team was responsive to the district’s needs. They made themselves available at meeting and also provided quick response on all items and provided drawings for future plans. We were extremely pleased with the firm’s total service orientation. They were very proactive in negotiating cost proposals and always acted in the best interest of the district, including designing several value engineering design alternatives ahead of time in the event of high bids in order to keep project on schedule.

  • This architecturally functional, yet physically inspiring, school is an inspiration for children from neighborhoods challenged by many of life’s toughest obstacles. They were responsive to all of our needs and understood the requirements we had to achieve the optimal learning environment. • We have found the firm to be professional, knowledgeable and creative. It has been our pleasure to be associated with this company, working to bring about new regulations and guidelines for continued development and redevelopment of an active and physically, socially and economically successful downtown.

    Brenda Kelly, Deputy Redevelopment Manager

West Palm Beach Downtown Master Plan Update and Urban Regulations

  • The architects did a wonderful job in designing a world class facility. I cannot say enough positive things about Zyscovich and the way that they partnered with the builders while meeting all of the needs of the end user and keeping the environment in mind. We are all proud to be a part of a Zyscovich designed facility.

  • It has been my pleasure to work with Mr. Jose Murguido, Vice president of the architectural firm of Zyscovich, Inc. Jose was the lead architect and person responsible in communicating with the owner in the planning, design and bidding phases of the project. Jose was also instrumental in facilitating meetings and guiding the owner through the various city and county agencies and helping to determine their specific needs and how they impacted our projects. Both projects were very successful not only in terms of budget and schedule, but also in Design quality and Aesthetics, something that is very important to most owners in the public sector.

  • It has been my pleasure to work with the firm of Zyscovich, Inc. on the Phased Replacement of Miami Beach Senior High School, first in the master plan phase and then in design. This project has many extremely complicated phasing issues to which the Zyscovich Education Group has consistently proposed creative and acceptable solutions. My experience with the Zyscovich Education group has proven them to be dedicated to client service and to keeping the progress of the design of the project within scheduling constraints. Their professionals work hard to consistently maintain a high level of service and responsiveness to the owner’s needs and concerns.

Their knowledge of Building Codes and experience in dealing with the Building Departments and other governing agencies was vital to the expeditious completion of this project. Zyscovich has been instrumental in helping to achieve the ultimate goal, which is to create a safe, nurturing environment that encourages lifelong learning and empowers all students.

  • The design created by Zyscovich has modernized and invigorated our students, staff, and compliments the educational conducive environment we strive to achieve at Lake Trafford Elementary. Zyscovich and their representatives worked closely with school staff to meet our specific needs. Their sensitivity towards keeping our campus operational and the students secure and safe during the renovation was efficient and effective.

I highly recommend them to any institution that wants a quality project within budget, thorough and state-of-the-art design and project administration services, and a facility that promotes learning.

  • The attention to detail, the creativity, the understanding of the legal requirements related to a school, and the genuine concern that we be pleased with the final product were all consistently evident during the time we worked with Zyscovich personnel. The knowledge and commitment of their staff is notable. By far, this was one of the most enjoyable experiences of the many that have been on my campus over the years. Our new facility, serving hundreds of students, is one of which both Zyscovich and Naples High School can be proud.

  • I can say working with the Zyscovich Architects team has been not only a pleasure but an enriching experience. They are superb at evaluating all possible elements of a project’s constraints and offering multiple solutions and options to find the best solution possible for the owner and user. At Pine Crest School we highly value a design firm’s strength in quality control because it is critical to the effective success of our facilities projects given the large financial investments made for both our Ft. Lauderdale and Boca Raton campuses.

Zyscovich successfully completes projects both large and small, because of their expertise, professionalism, excellent design capabilities and project cost negotiation. All of the projects they have delivered have been at or under budget, even with the inclusion of LEED certification for all our facilities. • I have had the privilege of working directly with Jose and other support members, and have found them to be responsive to each and every request in a very timely manner. I was amazed by Jose’s educational knowledge and how easily he understood the educational implications of his design work. We have a very complex project on a limited site. Jose and his staff have been very sensitive to the fact that during construction, we needed to operate our school while construction took place right next door.
